Computer Keyboard
Any connected Computer Keyboard can be used as a MIDI controller.
You can assign each key a separate action, like playing a note or sending control change events.
Please note that the computer keys are always mapped to the QWERTY layout.
This means that if you for example use a keyboard with a german key layout, your Y key will trigger the action defined for the Z key. The reason why it is implemented this way is that it would get very complicated to define which keys are next to each other for each possible keyboard layout.
If you have multiple computer keyboards connected, the input will be combined. So there is currently no way to select a specific keyboard.
There is also a button to automatically assign different layouts to the keys:
The Piano Layout assigns a typical piano layout to the keys. The notes of the selected octave are assigned to the keys, starting with key Z (the lowest key row) for the white keys and the key S (the second lowest row) for the black keys. The next two rows above that are assigned to keys of the next octave the same way.
The Chromatic layout assigns all notes chromatically starting with key Z and going to the left and upwards.
The Predefined Scale layout assigns all notes of a selected key, starting with key Z and going to the left and upwards.
